Bike Fitting - Art or Science?

The correct fit of your bike is critical for your ability to ride and train. A proper bike fit ensures that you ride comfortably and pain free and only then can you reach peak performance. It also allows you to prevent any injuries that could be caused by an ill fitting bike like knee issues, lower back pain.Your position on the bike must match the type of rider that you are (sprinter, climber, time trialist or tri-athlete) and what type of races/events you ride to enhance your performance. A bike fit is not a once a time experience, but it is rather a fluid process. Your correct position on the bike can change depending on your training status and your changing flexibility. When do you need a bike fit? A bike fit can be performed:
  • on an existing bike, or
  • to assess the correct measurements for a new bike
  • when you change the amount of time you spend riding or training

Prices:
  • $300 for a 3+ hour fitting session with one bike
  • $200 for a 3+ hour fitting session and you are a new or current client of ISC
  • $100 for a second bike fit (same bike type)
  • $150 for a second bike fit (different bike type)

Problems that can be eliminated with a proper bike fitting

  • Knee pain
  • Lower back pain
  • Hands fall asleep while riding
  • One leg is longer then the other
  • Numbness in feet
  • Neck pain
  • Shoulder/Upper Body Tension/Pain
